ARLINGTON — Sitting on the couch in Nashville wasn’t all that bad.
If he wanted to go fishing, he fished. If he wanted to play golf, he played. If he wanted to see his grandkids, they weren’t far away.
Bruce Bochy, though, wasn’t quite done with baseball. Check that: He wasn’t quite done with winning baseball.
Managing just for managing’s sake wasn’t appealing. Bochy wanted a chance to win another World Series.
The Rangers sold him that they could scratch his itch.
And look at them now.
