Dissecting the internal non-roster invitees to Rangers big-league spring training

(Rangers Today/Jeff Wilson)
The roster for Rangers big-league spring training is holding at 70, though there’s room to add before the first workout for pitchers and catcher Feb. 15.
Or the first full-squad workout Feb. 20.
A healthy chunk of the 70-man roster is made up of 19 internal non-roster invitees. They range from top prospects happy to be there to more grizzled minor-leaguers who have a chance at the Opening Day roster.
There are more of the former than the latter.
But crazy things tend to happen in spring training.
When do the Rangers expect Zavala to be able to play?
The initial prognosis was May. He’s started throwing a few weeks ago and will start to hit late this month. We talked to him last week at the ballpark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMIBwJoBFSY&t=2s
