Friday on the Farm: 12 of the best June performances in Rangers’ system

(ProLook Photos/Eddie Kelly)

In our third go-round of highlighting the best monthly performances in the Rangers farm system, a few trends have developed:

• Triple A Round Rock has players worthy of a promotion to the major leagues who continue to produce even though there are no spots for them on the Rangers’ roster.

• The Rangers’ player development group recognizes good performances and rewards them with promotions.

• Player development is different for every player. It often takes longer than everyone would prefer.

• The Rangers have a great deal of talent, from Triple to the Dominican Summer League.

The following 12 players match the above trends, some of them matching more than one.

Antoine Kelly pitched the night we were there on the 4th and he looks like a major league pitcher. Someone else to keep an eye on.

I was there, too. He dominated. Still a little inconsistent, but it’s a big-league arm.
