Friday on the Farm: 12 Rangers minor-leaguers who are turning heads this season

(Hickory Crawdads)

The minor-league season is turning one month old this weekend, and the Rangers have had a good opening month.

Their four full-season affiliates entered Friday with a 56-42.

Most of their top prospects are doing well, though some are still trying to sort things out.

The bottom line is that the farm system is living up to its billing and will be able to help the major-league club this season.

The good news is the first-place Rangers haven’t needed much help. But club officials are always looking to make the team better, and sometimes it comes from unexpected sources.

Not all of the 12 players below are candidates for the big-league club this season, but they have been among the best so far.

This is the first year that I’ve ever really kept up with the minor league affiliates. I have all of the teams book marked & check the box scores each day. That’s a result of Rangers Today’s coverage of the entire organization.

Rocker with another 6 scoreless innings.

It’s fun to keep up with them. When they get to the big leagues, you can impress all your friends with how much you know. Really, though, it’s fun to see them develop.
