Excuses are right there for Cole Winn to latch onto if he wants them.
He was the fourth-youngest player in the Pacific Coast League at the start of the season, he took a line drive off his ankle early in the season, and there was a medical scare in his family that took him away briefly from Triple A Round Rock.
There has to be some reason why Winn, the Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2021, is sporting a 6.24 ERA with only a few weeks left in the 2022 season.
