Friday on the Farm: All-Star candidates serving these minor-leaguers’ roadblocks

(Round Rock Express)
Great baseball things continue to happen three hours south of Globe Life Field and at points north and west in the Pacific Coast League.
Seemingly each night a player for Triple A Round Rock impresses on offense. Oftentimes, multiple players are impressing.
Big offensive performances are nothing new in the hitter-friendly PCL, where high altitudes and dry air cause batting averages and ERAs to climb. Hitters can run hot and cold, but Round Rock hitters have been as hot as the weather of late.
Elier Hernandez, Davis Wendzel, J.P. Martinez, Sandro Fabian, Justin Foscue and Blaine Crim have all been sizzling at the plate. Each has an OPS above .800, and each has at less 24 extra-base hits in less than 250 at-bats.
And their timing couldn’t be worse.
