Friday on the farm: Good week for Texas Rangers system, which added an ace, possibly another, and quality depth

The best Texas Rangers news of the week, the one thing that the team absolutely could not screw up, came Wednesday morning.
Jack Leiter, the No. 2 overall pick in the MLB Draft, signed his first contract. Had the Rangers signed only him and none of the other 19 selections, the draft would have been a success. Had they Rangers signed the other 19 but not him, it would have been an utter failure.
(The deadline to sign draftees is Sunday, and the Rangers expect to sign the majority of their class. Many of them are already in Arizona for a mini-camp.)
