The Texas Rangers have moved on to Phase 2 of their 2021 MLB draft plans — actually signing the 20 players they selected earlier this week — and they have indicated that process is well under way.
Will they sign all 20? Probably not, with Clemson quarterback recruit Will Taylor reportedly telling teams he is going to play football. The Rangers selected Taylor, a prep outfielder thought to be one of the top 20 prospects in the draft, in the 19th round.
Once signed, the Rangers will move into Phase 3. Call it, Welcome to Professional Baseball.
