Friday on the Farm: How soon is too soon for Rangers to call up Wyatt Langford?

Wyatt Langford has been so good in his first two months as a professional baseball player that he his performance has made its way to the desk of Rangers manager Bruce Bochy.
“He’s the hottest hitter in the world right now,” Bochy said Wednesday.
Everybody with the Rangers knows what the fourth overall pick is doing. Langford is doing it currently at Triple A Round Rock after impressive showings at High A Hickory and Double A Frisco. He’s been so good that he is in the conversation to join the big-league club.
That’s not a misprint.
So, the Mike Trout comparisons from a Vanderbilt coach and on MLB.com were understatements? I would never have imagined. Even Gallo didn’t have me this excited. Tbh, Trout may be a 80th percentile outcome, but it’s still fun to imagine.
I’d like to spend a few weeks watching Langford before I comp him to the best player of the past 10 years. Trout is bigger physically and probably faster. His 2011 debut also seems to be forgotten. He wasn’t very good and had to go back down. I think Scioscia might have been behind that, too.
