The last of the Texas Rangers’ affiliates still going in the regular season is Triple A Round Rock, which will see its season end Oct. 3 in conjunction with the MLB season.
All other regular seasons have concluded, though Low A Down East advanced to the postseason and was looking to keep its best-of-5 series alive Friday night.
But enough evidence has been produced for the Texas Rangers Newsletter to pump out its inaugural minor-league awards.
Of the four categories below, Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year were the toughest to determine. Comeback Player of the Year was a shoo-in, though not without quality candidates, and the same goes for Breakthrough Player of the Year.
There are three nominees for three of the awards, and four for another. The lists started out much larger.
Without further adieu, here are the nominees and the winners.
