Mason Englert speaks new language of pitching on Texas Rangers Baseball Podcast

(Hickory Crawdads/Ashley Salinas)
FORT WORTH — File this one under better late than never.
Whenever you combine me and technology, difficulties often ensue.
That was the case late last week with the latest episode of the Texas Rangers Baseball Podcast featuring Rangers pitching prospect Mason Englert.
Everything sounds terrific, but the final video is still a work-in-progress. Something about the audio dragging.
That’s a drag, but the episode is not thanks to Englert.
The Rangers’ fourth-round pick in 2018, from Forney High School just east of Dallas, is dominating at High A Hickory after embracing analytics and making the data work for him. He also said that meditation and super-cold ice baths have helped him, too.
Those ice baths, he said, help make him mentally tough. They also help with metabolism, so sign me up.

There is video (below), just for now you don’t get to see Englert’s mouth as it moves. Unfortunately, you do get to look at John and me.
