ARLINGTON — Max Scherzer received glowing reports for his performance Wednesday during a simulated game at Globe Life Field. While manager Bruce Bochy didn’t say that Scherzer would be on the roster for the American League Championship Series, it seems like a strong likelihood.

“He had a nice outing yesterday,” Bochy said. “We have some time before we set this roster, but you have to be really encouraged with how he threw the ball and how he feels.”

Scherzer threw 68 pitches, pitching coach Mike Maddux said. He also agreed that Scherzer looked good.

What no one would said is just how much Scherzer would be able to do in the best-of-7 series against the Astros.
