Midway through Rangers spring training, Wyatt Langford pleased with progress

SURPRISE, Ariz. — Wyatt Langford drifted directly to the spot in left field where he knew Alexander Canario’s towering flyball would land.

The Rangers’ 2023 first-round pick was wearing sunglasses and using his glove to further block out the sun.

The ball hit him right in the ribs and bounded away for a triple.

He even had a sense of humor about it.

“Oh, I was there,” Langford said.

I’m really glad I picked him in the last round of a fabtasy snake draft on EPSN. He’s looking like a better DH option than Evan Carter. I also have Trout, Yordan, and Tatis, so that makes it hard to get both Rangers in.
