Nathan Eovaldi is latest addition to Rangers’ starting rotation

If something is said to the point that it becomes cliche, there must be some truth to it.
The Rangers are believers that a team can never have enough pitching.
They landed another starter Tuesday night, signing free-agent right-hander Nathan Eovaldi to a two-year, $34 million deal with a vesting option that could make it a three-year, $64 million deal, plus incentives.
Eovaldi gives the Rangers six veteran starters for five spots. His addition likely pushes Jake Odorizzi into a swing role in which he makes spots starts and covers key innings for starters who are short on innings.
That’s pretty much all of them.
Beautiful news. So glad this FO has put into action all that was shared about plans for this offseason. Like last offseason, the Rangers are in the limelight and I expect at least a few more moves to sure up the bullpen and the COF or DH spot. There are plenty of options in FA or via the trade market, so rounding out the rotation with Eovaldi is a sight for sore eyes. Cheers to the Rangers and to both you (Jeff) and John for y’all’s work. Go Rangers!
What do you think about a Semien for Yelich + Devin Williams bad contract swap? Or, Dunning and Ornelas for Santander?
