SURPRISE, Ariz. — The reports from the past 12 hours about the Rangers being interested in White Sox right-hander Dylan Cease, the 2022 American League Cy Young winner, are true, according to baseball sources.

The Rangers want him. He’s very good, he comes with two years of club control and he would make the Rangers’ rotation better and deeper. The question becomes if the Rangers want to meet Chicago’s reported steep asking price — infielder Ezequiel Duran and right-handed prospects Brock Porter and Jack Leiter — or a package with similar prospect power.
