ARLINGTON — The 2023 MLB regular season ends three weeks from today. The Rangers will be in Seattle, where the hope is they will still have games to to play that first week of October.

And, once again, that remains a possibility even if it feels as if they have already been eliminated.

The Rangers are in third place in the American League West, trailing the Astros by three games. In the wild-card race, the Rangers are 1 1/2 games behind the Mariners and Blue Jays.

Including the series finale this afternoon against the A’s, the Rangers have 21 games remaining. As they have said for weeks, whether fans believe them nor not, that’s a lot of time for things to turn in their favor.

Manager Bruce Bochy continues to believe that all that has abandoned the Rangers the past three weeks will return. He and the coaching staff have been trying to remind players how fortunate they are to be in the hunt for October, and to believe that what they got them to this point is attainable again.

Maybe.

Including today’s game, the Rangers have 21 games remaining.

Here’s a look at the finale against the A’s and the final six series:

Our opponents off days remaining over what the Rangers have (1 on Sep 21).
Astros – 3 (every Thursday left)
    Blue Jays – 2
Guardians – 3 (including the day before the Ranger series)
Mariners – 2 (including the day before the series in Arlington)
    Red Sox – 2

This is patently unfair to the Rangers who were twittling thumbs in April and now they have to pay in Sep.Young and the brass need to make a point of this unfair scheduling with MLB in New York.

As far the Rangers…well just suck it up and score some damn runs. 2-3 a game isn;t going to cut it. 6-9 and we get in the playoffs. Memo to the warning track crowd (you know who you are) give up on the Babe Ruth/Barry Bonds swings. Not helping a bit!!!!
