Rangers release former prospect Bayron Lora after MLB investigation

(Rangers Today/Jeff Wilson)

ARLINGTON — Bayron Lora came to the Rangers in 2019 with the potential to hit mammoth home runs some day. As of a few days ago, Lora is no longer with the organization.

So killing someone is less of a crime than domestic fights? This is tragic. It’s also messed up Texas wasted this money on trying to be politically correct. They should have released him after the car crash. Cleared of wrongdoing seems to have very different standards for evidence. They aren’t disputing the person died in the car; rather, they are only saying he wasn’t responsible. I wonder if they had any real evidence or if they just did this to follow through and not look foolish for investigating. I thought Texas wouldn’t care after Hamilton, Bush, Bradley, Manny Ramirez (also domestic violence claims), and others, but it looks like the Rangers are now 100% run by social media and don’t make their own decisions. They could just wait out 2023.

He didn’t intentionally kill someone in the car crash. Domestic violence is pretty awful. We don’t know the details. I bet the Rangers do. Lora has a lot of problems beyond this. Hamilton’s alleged domestic violence was well after his playing career. Matt Bush was a surprise, I’ll admit. Milton Bradley’s domestic stuff wasn’t known about in 2008. Not sure about Manny. Chris Young isn’t going to let this stuff slide.

Great response- just wanted to clarify I was only talking about Manny Ramirez, but Hamilton had his drug issues before that. I think the stuff after for Hamilton was terrible since it was a child, but even before that, he was very meh morally at best. I guess talent wins out? Glad they didn’t sign Clevinger btw
