Rangers Today Baseball Podcast calls up Grant Anderson
DUNCANVILLE — Grant Anderson had never set foot in the completed Globe Life Field before his callup to the Rangers’ bullpen, though he took a tour of it in 2019 while in Arlington for the inaugural instructs college tour.
He had never been on the Rangers Today Baseball Podcast before Friday, either.
Anderson made it to both Friday, and he did this show before departing for the ballpark.
It was a fun conversation with Anderson, who made his MLB debut May 30 and dazzled by striking out seven of the nine hitters he faced. His story about how he learned he was getting promoted is a hoot and unique, as his twin brother, Aiden, was with him in the Triple A Round Rock bullpen.
Grant Anderson also talks about how he developed into a side-arming pitcher, something that happened his freshman year at McNeese State when he transitioned from being a catcher.
