Rangers Today Baseball Podcast: Colby Lewis reflects on career, evaluates present-day Rangers

FORT WORTH — Colby Lewis is the best postseason pitcher in Rangers history, one of the stars of the glory years and a throwback to a bygone era.
He didn’t have an upper-90s fastball at that stage of his career, but he had guts. He wasn’t happy if he lasted only five innings in one of his starts. His job was seven or eight innings.
Part of him thinks he could go give a team five innings right now, even though he hasn’t pitched since 2016.
But it wasn’t easy.
Lewis, who was in town to attend the annual Do It For Durrett Foundation event, pretty much covers it all during his first appearance on the Texas Rangers Baseball Podcast, in-studio nonetheless. It won’t be his last.
Lewis is also a special assistant to the general manager, so he has a pulse on the Rangers as they prepare for 2023.
He covers some of the questions facing the team, too.
