Editor’s note: T.R. Sullivan covered the Texas Rangers over 32 years for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and MLB.com and is sharing his “memoirs” with this website.

In the latest installment, Sullivan reviews many of the prominent midseason trades the Rangers have made leading up to the July 31 trade deadline. The deadline, which this year falls on Monday, was instituted in the settlement from the 1994-95 players strike.
