Editor’s note: T.R. Sullivan covered the Texas Rangers over 32 years for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and MLB.com and is sharing his “memoirs” with this website.
The Rangers will induct former second baseman Ian Kinsler and longtime executive John Blake into their Hall of Fame on Saturday night. They will be the 25th and 26th inductees into the Rangers Hall of Fame. Here is a list of those 26 Hall of Famers, and with each one, one comparable player/executive/broadcaster who is also at least deserving of consideration when it comes to the Rangers Hall of Fame.
Many thought Dean Palmer to be on track to be an all-time great. He only played 7 full seasons and a ton of partial seasons, mostly due to injury as I recall. He fell off at the end fast. Had he played 15 full seasons, he could have been something unreal.
