Evan Carter’s major-league career turns a month old this weekend.

He will spend it playing in the American League Division Series as the starting left fielder for the Texas Rangers. He will do so having reached base in 7 of 8 plate appearance in the wild-card series and with a 2.875 OPS.

The Rangers would be thrilled with an .875 OPS.

Corey Seager said that Carter “gave us the spark we needed” after debuting Sept. 8 and hitting five homers and posting a 1.058 OPS the rest of the way. While Carter’s nickname is “Mr. Full Count,” which fits with his No. 32 jersey number, the Rangers have another nickname for him.
