ARLINGTON — After throwing 68 pitches Wednesday in a “weird” simulated game because he was “hungover” and a bullpen Friday, Max Scherzer declared himself ready to pitch for the Rangers in the American League Championship Series.

The right-hander also took a round of pitchers fielding practice, testing the health of his right shoulder on a variety of throws and knocking some rust off covering first base.

While the Rangers don’t have to submit their ALCS roster until 10 a.m. Sunday, Scherzer was already talking as if he will be on it.
