Here’s why Rangers might not replicate past two offseasons

Money talks this time of year in baseball as teams dive into free agency to fill any holes they have.
The Rangers don’t have many from the 2023 club that won the World Series.
Of the nine position players who started the most games during their postseason run, only Mitch Garver needs to be replaced.
The Rangers have five starting pitchers, with a sixth expected to be available in August.
The key contributors that pitched so well in the postseason are returning to the bullpen.
When general manager Chris Young said that the Rangers aren’t going to spend at the same levels they have the past two years, it’s because the Rangers don’t have the glaring needs they had the past two offseasons.
Translation: The Rangers don’t need to splurge on multiple impact free agents.
But with their broadcast partner threatening to not pay them in 2024 and the payroll already soaring, the Rangers are thinking twice about even splurging on one.
