ARLINGTON — The Rangers’ sputtering offense could get a lift as soon as the next time they face a left-handed pitcher.
Catcher Jonah Heim took live batting practice Sunday morning batting right-handed against Double A Frisco left-hander Triston Polley. Heim, a switch hitter, has batted primarily from the left side against right-handers since returning from the injured list.
The wrist injury in July was initially thought to be a potential season-ender. At best, the thinking was Heim would be able to be only a lefty hitter. However, he started taking right-handed cuts about a week ago and has felt so good that he moved the session with Polley from Monday to Sunday.
