Texas Rangers notes: Jacob deGrom passes another spring test

Give the media until mid-April to stop asking Jacob deGrom about his health and his buildup and if he’s a full-go.

But it’s spring training, he has missed time, and the Rangers signed him for $185 million. He’s going to be asked all those questions for another month.

He answered them dutifully Sunday after making his Cactus League debut. The right-hander tossed three scoreless innings on two hits, and had to do some pitching in the first to strand at third with one out.

Following the stadium game, deGrom said he’s trending the right way for Opening Day and the left side tightness is in the past.
