Jordan Montgomery dazzles in Rangers’ Game 1 win, and pitches pretty well, too

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Jose Siri isn’t known for his bunting prowess, and it showed when he tried to lay one down Tuesday in the second inning.
The outfielder popped it up, pushing it between toward the first-base line, but it caught the Rangers by surprise and appeared as if it was going to fall a hit that would load the bases for the Rays.
Jordan Montgomery isn’t known for his fielding prowess. But the Rangers left-hander knew where first baseman Nathaniel Lowe was positioned, and morphed into a Gold Glover.
It seems like most of the best Rangers’ starters have been lefties, in spite of most pitchers not being left-handed. In no particular order, they have recently had CJ Wilson, Matt Harrison, Cole Hamels, Jordan Montgomery, Cliff Lee, Kenny Rogers, and probably a few more
