The Sunday Read: Jared Walsh producing again during Rangers’ fast start

(Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports)

ARLINGTON —  Jared Walsh collected 13 big-league hits last season for the Angels, who finally threw in the towel on their former All-Star first baseman with his average at .125 after 104 at-bats.

He entered Sunday with 10 hits in 30 at-bats this season for the Rangers.

Walsh has been a pleasant surprise early on for the 6-2 Rangers after finding the remedy for what ailed him the past two seasons.

The numbers were not pretty.

They are now, for now. Who knows what the rest of the season will bring.

In Walsh’s case, no one has much of an idea what the rest of the month will bring.
