The Sunday Read: Josh Jung (very likely) won’t make MLB debut this season. And that’s just fine

One thing baseball officials generally do very well is giving themselves some wiggle room when speaking to the media.
They don’t speak in absolutes. They rattle off caveats. They do both in the same sentence.
Take, for instance, how Texas Rangers president of baseball operations Jon Daniels answered a question Friday about the likelihood of additional promotions from the minor leagues before the end of the season, specifically Josh Jung.
“We don’t have anything else currently planned,” Daniels said. “We’re not going to rule it out if something is warranted or we’ve got an injury or an opportunity at the big-league leave. But I think the most likely additions at this point will be off the IL.”
That’s a no. Probably. Most likely. As of now.
And that’s definitely just fine.
