The Sunday Read: Rangers being cautious with Jacob deGrom, but when does it end?

FOLLY BEACH, S.C. — Word travels fast these days, and sometimes even interferes with vacation.
This website isn’t called Rangers Tomorrow. It’s Rangers Today, and a baseball season doesn’t stop for anyone.
It kept trucking Friday night, when right-hander Jacob deGrom was removed from his start against the Yankees after 3 2/3 innings with forearm soreness. It will keep on trucking for however long deGrom is out.
Great news! I’d take 175 innings with a 1.75 ERA and a double-digit K/BB ratio. He already has the highest ratio of all time in MLB history.
Mike and Bochy know how to deal with this better than most, but it seems to me that expecting 5+ innings every 5th day out of deGrom is unrealistic. He doesn’t have 33 starts and 200 innings in him and then have more in the tank for post season. Something alternative needs to be considered, like skip every third start.
