ARLINGTON — To all those who witnessed the Texas Rangers’ 2021 campaign, it’s probably hard to believe that two teams actually finished with a worse record.
Significantly worse, too, as Baltimore and Arizona each finished with 110 losses compared to the 102 lost by the Rangers.
Those two teams will draft 1-2 next month in the 2022 MLB Draft, and the Rangers will draft third overall. They used the second selection last year on Jack Leiter.
So, the Rangers are going to get a great prospect again this season, likely a top-50 prospect.
And then, they’re going to sit around for a while.
