The Sunday Read: Some way-too-early trends to watch with 2023 Rangers

The 2023 season isn’t even two weeks old.

Try 10 days and three series.

The Rangers played their ninth game of the season Sunday, when they avoided three-game sweep at Wrigley Field with an 8-2 win over the Cubs.

So, yeah, it’s way too early to make any definitive judgments about the Rangers.

Only a fool would do such a thing.

Isn’t Odorizzi already on the 60 day IL?

If you had written this last year, everything would have been under the “Not Looking Good” section. Good read, Jeff!

Solid takes. My impressions based on what I wanted to see,
    a. Seager’s defense much improved, I had a real concern last year. He’s not playing as guarded as last year.
    b. Love Bochy’s use of Josh Smith. I wouldn’t have gone this way. And I would have been wrong.
    c. Rotation? Check.
    d. Bullpen? Check
    e. Catcher’s not warmed up yet. Not worried, they’ll be there.
    d. Garcia becoming a tough AB.
