The Sunday Read: The clock is ticking on the 30 most important days of Rangers’ season

One of the changes that went overlooked in the euphoria of the MLB lockout ending after 99 days involves the annual trade deadline.

The commissioner was given the authority to move it from the traditional July 31, anywhere from July 28 to Aug. 3.

So, by the power vested in him, the 2022 trade deadline is Aug. 2.

When counting today, 30 days remain until the deadline. Twenty-nine days remain until the Rangers have to sign their draft choices. Two weeks remain until the MLB Draft, in which the Rangers draft third overall and then don’t draft again for 106 picks.

The next 30 days are going to be the most important of the season for the Rangers.

Do you think the Rangers will trade for a Competitive Balance pick? If so, could a trade like that go down any day now or right before the draft?
