Wash! The former manager joins the Rangers Today Baseball Podcast

DUNCANVILLE — The Atlanta Braves were in town earlier this week, and the great minds behind the Rangers Today Baseball Podcast had an idea: Why not see if Braves third-base coach Ron Washington could preview the series?

In these circles, Washington is better known as the manager who guided the Rangers to the World Series in 2010 and 2011. He was a fan favorite for the joy and energy he brought each day, and it trickled down to his players.

He’s 71 now, but still hitting fungos and doing defensive drills with Braves infielders.

Washington’s mind remains as sharp as a tack, which he showed during our 82nd episode. He has no intentions of retiring as long as he still can give back to the game.
