What to know about the Rangers’ TV deal for 2024

The proposed linear-rights agreement between Diamond Sports Group and the Rangers is official, and the vast majority of the defending World Series champion’s games will be broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest in 2024.

Terms weren’t disclosed, and the Rangers, as is their nature, didn’t have a heckuva lot to say about it.

“With today’s ruling, the Texas Rangers and Diamond Sports have officially finalized their linear broadcast rights deal for the 2024 season,” the club said in a statement. “We are happy to have an agreement in place and look forward to partnering with Bally Sports Southwest for what should be a very exciting year for our club.

“At the same time, we will continue to work for ways to enhance and expand how our fans will be able to view Texas Rangers baseball in the future.”

As a non-local Rangers fan who has DirecTV Stream, I’m glad to be able to watch the games on Bally’s. Of the 153 scheduled, I’ll probably watch ~140 of them as I’ve done in the past. Thanks for the coverage, Jeff.

I hate contract breaches due to bankruptcy. I do wonder if anyone will leak the $ amount, but the team also signed deGrom 24 hours BEFORE anyone announced it, and that was the team itself, so I’m not sure anything like that gets out. Perhaps only the GM/President and owners know.
